incontinence and sex life

Hi! I am 76 and I have survived my prostate cancer (localised) for 14 years so far. First 10 years only with diet and watchful waiting. Then I started intermittent hormonal treatment.

The worst symptom for me is my urinating problems. I had TURP 6 weeks ago and after a short period of improvement I have urges

(every hour at night) and leaking. Strangely, the leaking occurs mainly when I lie down. The urge becomes very strong if I am even slightly aroused. No sex life possible under these conditions. Not even with my very patient wife.

Has anybody successfully dealt with leaking and urging under sexual arousal???  Please help. Zdzislaw

Hi Zdz!, I have had constant trips to the loo since before I was Dx and I had a TURP last year too, it did not help with the flow much or the frequency of peeing. Since ending RT I have been on Cialis tablets and this sometimes causes me to wake up at night "slightly aroused" and also needing to wee (I still go 4/5times each night) my problem is that with a "slightly aroused " willy I have to sit on the loo and lean forward just to be able to empty my bladder.

My sex life is non existent at present, ever since being on HT, as there is no libido and even with a "semi" I find the interest wanes before I can use it.

Not sure that this is answering your question as I do not get leaks but the sexual arousal bit either goes when I have a wee or goes when I lose interest!!

Back to the drawing board me thinks until I end HT.

I have plenty of optimism Zdz. The glass is always half full but I am a bit of a realist as well so no point in getting down over things(been there and done that)
