Hi ,    Underwent Robotic assisted Surgery on  Thursday came home on Friday ,all went OK, Sat pm. started on Sildenafil 50 mg .Supposed to take one a day for 28 days .

Experienced 4 partial erections  over a 6 hour period ,somewhat uncomfortable ,nice to see the 'old fellow ' but scared me a bit as I still have the catheter fitted .

Do I carry on with the Sildenafil ' maybe cut the pill in half  or stop ,has anyone had experience of this .Cant talk to my dedicated advisor as it's bank holiday and not in again 'till Tuesday

Thanks

I would stop until you have been able to speak to someone. First, there isn't any research to support the idea that daily sildenafil works the same way as daily Cialis (which of course is taken at a much lower dose) and b) if you are getting partial erections already, it may be that you are not going to have ED problems anyway.

I had rather uncomfortable partial erections for a couple of weeks after the operation (both with and without catheter inserted) - no drugs involved though. I put it down to recovery from nerve damage, but the issue went away before I could talk to the specialist about it.

Just a quick update , read through all the info from hospital , should have started tablets following catheter removal .no wonder it was uncomfortable!  If I had brains I could be dangerous!

I stopped taking  tablets after first one however it's put me off re-starting them following catheter removal on 4th. May Will have a talk with my Urology Cancer nurse specialist to decide what to do
