Hi all. My husband had five cycles of docetaxel with no reaction, but on the 6 th cycle he had a bad reaction after 10mins. They stopped the drug, gave him some more medications and then managed to complete the cycle, but he was left feeling very weak. He was then supposed to have a 7th cycle today, but had a bad reaction again at the start - so bad that they stopped the cycle and will not complete it. It seems he has developed a hyper sensitivity to docetaxel, and I just wondered if anyone else has had this reaction ? Also, is there an alternative chemo drug he can have, as the hospital are suggesting he has 3 more cycles of chemo after the 6 weeks of radiotherapy he is supposed to undergo in August. Or are his days of chemotherapy over.... ? I suppose at least he was able to have 6 cycles completed.... This disease really does like making life awkward.....
