Jim, of course you could have hoped for better scores but they're not disastrous, by any means. There will be lots of treatment options, more every year, and you will have lots of years in which you'll be able to use them, if necessary. Get yourself fit, the better to handle the treatment. Get into a positive frame of mind, because that helps, too. Adopt a sensible diet, no excesses or fads, one that will be good for your heart in particular. Then prepare for the long haul on a journey that none of us wanted to take but which is about living life to the full, not worrying about dying.

Good Luck and keep in touch via this forum as you make progress.

Hi Jim

Well that's one more piece of the jigsaw in place. Not the highest score nor the lowest but at least you now know.

If you are able to take someone along on Tuesday it can be helpful and make notes to help you remember what has been said. If I didn't quite understand something then I got them to draw diagrams for me which I kept. Make sure you feel comfortable with your understanding of what you are being told as that helps you to feel that you are still in the driving seat.

I found that the more I knew the more chilled I was about the whole thing.

All the best for Tuesday and let us know how you get on.

Despite your other problems you sound as though you're on top of this Jim. Well done to Royal Mail for the support and hope that all goes well with your return to work.

Good to see the PSA results.

Keep on trucking 👍

A great feeling isn't it ? Glad that you are feeling upbeat after the treatment. Things do take a little while to shake down again so hopefully in a couple of weeks the bowels will have improved.

The tiredness is pretty common but I found that occasionally I would indulge it but mostly I made myself work through it and I found that this helped me a lot.

Spoil yourself now - you deserve it and don't forget to spoil the OH as well.

Have a lovely Christmas.

Well if you make it up the stairs for the last game of the season, I might have a drink with you in the bar afterwards!
