Hey Guys! New here, I want to learn more about prostate cancer. My father just got diagnosed with stage three prostate cancer; he is 50 years old and in my opinion, not an old fellow.

Hi Christian.

Sorry to hear about your dad. I was 55 when DX 3 years ago and don't consider myself old either.

You can get the toolkit from Prostate Cancer UK web site which gives you a good source of reading. Although I bet you wish you sis t need to read.

The PCUK nurses are also superb if you need someone to talk to. I know that they have helped me immensely over the past 3 years both emotionally and for their knowledge.

No doubts others will be on soon to give advice etc.

Keep strong and positive.

Stay away from web sites that try to sell you stuff and stick to PCUK.

Hello Christian, sorry you find yourself here.

Good advice from Sanders about the toolkit and nurses.

If you do decide to Google, then try and stick with this site or at least British ones as a general search will bring up info from other Countries (ie America) which just isn't relevant to our NHS.

What options has your dad been given?

Christian - sorry to see you here. I was 46 at diagnosis, just a little younger than your dad. The specialist nurses from PCUK are great to talk to - they'll talk to you or your dad, so don't hesitate to call them. Lots of very caring and knowledgeable people on this forum too. It might be good if you gave us a bit more info on dad's diagnosis as people will be able to be more specific in their responses.
