More advanced HIFU?

The two usual contenders for HIFU have been the 'Ablatherm' and 'Sonablate'.  However, there is another alternative for treating PCa which I have read is more advanced and is done within a scanner.  It is also claimed to be able to treat bone mets, hence I have posted it under the Advanced or metastatic section, although it can be used for just treating the prostate.  It seems to be available only at centres in the USA at present.  I have no personal experience of it but it could be another advance.  Navigate this web site if of real or academic interest. https://insightec.com/exablate-prostate/

The consultant we used in the USA is participating in the clinical trial for intermediate risk ( Gleason 7) prostate cancer.

https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT01657942

Interestingly there is a machine round the corner from us at our local private hospital where it is used for focal removal of fibroids ( privately) as opposed to the more radical treatments offered by the NHS such as hysterectomy.

Fingers crossed this trial is successful in its prostate cancer trials.
