Testosterone level concern

Hi ;
Just a quick query.
Husband Gleason 3+4 psa was 16 T2c/t3a being treated as T3. Ht/rt treatment
Started HT prostap in December/ had casidex for 3 weeks before/while in prostap.
Psa dropped to 0.2
Then bounced up to 2.7 end if 2nd injection
Psa 3rd injection down to 1.9
Testosterone first test this week 2.5

We were pleased his psa has gone down but concerned his testosterone is 2.5 too high.
Question is how long does it take for testosterone to reduce. The specialist nurse mentioned it’s not instant it’s like a dimmer switch . Dies that mean it takes a while to turn off.
Just worried the cancer is still feeding albeit his psa has dropped?

Just to add to the above he is on his 2nd prostap injection (got it in March). He hasn’t had 3 as I mistakenly said above.
Any advice gratefully received

You can’t really tell just from this test. The important thing is to track both PSA and Testosterone over time; as the PSA drops you will also see the T dropping and if you get a worrying PSA rise you can immediately check whether the HT is working.

thanks Lyn - so perhaps his testosterone was even higher before and it could be on its way down now with the drop in psa? I will keep a note of all figures and track it. I guess we need to look at the positive of the drop in psa
thanks Lyn have a good weekend

Average testosterone level for a man in his 60s is 300ng/dL so I think you can assume the HT is having an effect!

thanks lyn - his was measured in nmol/l so I think in ng/dl it would be 72 which worries me, although 300 to 72 is still a big drop at 76%?
I am perhaps overthinking things again which is my downfall and should focus not he psa drop.

Castrate level on that scale is 1.73nmol/L so he is nearly there - perhaps by the time of the next test it will have dropped a little bit more. If he has only had two injections, it is a bit early to be panicking.
