How quickly can I resume exercise?

User

Hi everyone

I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in April and opted for brachytherapy which I had today.

I am a fairly fit 58-year-old who is used to playing three games of strenuous racketball every week.

My question is, how soon will I be able to resume this activity?

Any thoughts much appreciated.

Whatto Laurence1959,

Welcome to this forum from me and please go to my profile for my pen picture.

I resumed playing Golf, a full round, 4 days after LDR procedure in April 2010.

Your mention of 'strenuous' could perhaps infer that you may be a little over ambitious

to resume normal sporting activities so how about a gentle reintroduction after two weeks

or so. I am certain that your body will dictate how you go about things so my advice to you

is to have no preconceptions and slowly resume your very physical chosen sport at a very

gentle canter. Slowly slowly catchee racketball.

Best wishes with your sporting interests.

Chigwell 2010.

Many thanks Chigwell 2010!

That is encouraging.
