Chronic constipation pls reply

Hello All, My Father done with 4 th chemo but he is suffering from chronic constipation (Loss bowel movement) and he is having mild fever . Any one can tell me constipation is the main reason for fever and infection.

Bose, you are not having much luck with your replies are you.

IT would be best if you are anxious (and not getting the replies you need) to either contact the nurses on this site (0800 074 8383)

or to contact you dad's GP

Bose, I have told you before that fever during chemo is not normal and it is dangerous. Your Dad should consult his oncologist or oncology nurse urgently. Constipation is commonly!ace with chemo and can be treated with lots of different laxatives, but it does ease half way through the cycle in my experience.

Bose you must speak to your dad’s doctors. Chronic constipation could be linked to dad’s spinal cord compression which you should realise is very very serious.
