I have just found out that another of our comrades has died yesterday, 17th October, John Sherwood, shergold.

R I P John, we will miss you at Euston this year, so sad, a very brave guy who had fought this disease for some time, at peace and pain free now. We pray for Val and her family at this very sad time.

I thought I would publish the Prayer that was read out this afternoon after the candles had been lit:-

Lord God our Father, we thank you for those whom we
love and who have been taken from us.
We thank you for the joy we received while they were with us.
We thank you for the love which we shared with them.
We pray that nothing bin their lives will be lost;
that they may live on in our hearts, as they now live with you.
And we pray for ourselves in our loss.
Let us not dwell on what might have been.
Give us instead the courage to embrace each day all that now must be.

Amen.

They will be remembered, their names WILL live on in our memories, as you that are left will be remembering them too.

God Bless.
Chris.

Yet another good man has been taken too soon.

John was one of the funniest, nicest guys around, and so many of us had the pleasure of meeting him and his lovely wife Val twice a year for the last four years.

Val says that he was taken very suddenly. I can't imagine her sorrow at the moment.

So many of you brave women have experienced the same devastating loss this year.
My heart breaks for you all.

I always say that we men fighting this cancer worry far more about leaving our soulmates behind than anything which ails us.

Dear Val, may you find strength now, and then eventually some comfort and peace.
John was a lovely guy. We loved him to bits. Our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with you at this saddest of times.

It is with much sadness that I announce that Peter Wilsher died on Monday of a massive heart attack. [pedro mccoo on Bollocks to Pca]. R I P our dear friend. At least he didn't suffer to the end like most of our fallen have done with PCa. Chris.

Peter was a lovely man, John and I met him at the Leicester get together. All my sympathies to his wife Heather (Highlander) - when your man has advanced PCa and treatment options are beginning to run out, you don't imagine that something can come completely out of the blue and unrelated so this must have been a terrible shock. Peter, kind smiley man, sleep peacefully.

Chris,

I'm so glad to hear you and Shirley will be at John's funeral.

It's one I felt I must attend, but circumstances prevent me.

Please tell Val that everyone at B2PCa is with her in spirit. John was a much loved friend to us all.

Only found at earlier today from Elsie who sent me a message. I only met John a couple of times but we talked at length. A lovely, lovely guy who made an instant impact with his humour and courage. Last time we met, he said, "Funny thing is Dan, I feel perfectly OK". It's a very sad thing to see such a wonderful man go, but I will never forget him and wish Val and all the family my best wishes in this terrible time. I consider myself lucky to have known such an amazingly likeable person. John, I salute you my friend. x

I echo your sentiments entirely Dan, John was a really nice guy and I only wish I had been able to have been there today to have seen him off.

Bon voyage John.

Well Roger and Dan, Janet (Daykin), Elsie, Shirley and I were at John's send off. One 'funny' incident was that during the Funeral Director's speech a mobile went off and he said that it was John telling everyone to turn their phones off !!!
