2.5mg, 5 mg, 10mg

Hi all,

Can anyone help me with a query regarding the size of tablets and the strength of the vital ingredient?

Having looked at supplies of Cialis online recently the 2.5mg and the 5mg are the same price.  The 10mg and the 20mg are the same price.

Am I right in thinking that a 5mg tablet will contain twice as much active ingredient as the 2.5mg tablet?

I've recently been prescribed 5mg Cialis per day 3 weeks post op.....

I've only taken one as it gave  me quite bad acid reflux...... I'm going to talk to my GP about this...not sure if there is an alternative medication to aid penile rehabilitation available?....

Oh my god Diesel, please tell me you are not taking them all!!! Your GP or someone has made a mistake, there is no way you should be getting 28 of these each month. If you OD your coffin will be an unusual shape.

I would have thought so.
Are you going to buy some? We were told they are £8 a tablet!

Hi Hilary,

I am looking at buying something to experiment. I have read how some men are on 20mg Cialis and this gives a good reaction. Maybe 20mg will work better for me? The 5mg I am on daily is great and has definitely helped my recovery.

I have experimented with Viagra, with mixed results.

The higher dose tablets, if they are cheaper, can be cut in half if required to do the same job as lower doses, but more economically.

does your health authority prescribe cialis?
ours will prescribe 4 x 20mg a month
so paul breaks one in half and takes 10mg 2 times a week
its helping to get the blood flowing but not a full erection yet but it is early days
why dont you try taking 4 x5mg see if it has effect you want

They have been prescribing me 28 x 5mg Cialis, and 8 x 50mg Viagra every 28 days. I have been very fortunate with my GPs.

Hi,

Yes you are right in your thinking, the amounts quoted are the amounts of the active ingredient tadalafil in a Cialis tablet.

Hi Country boy I get 28 50mg Sildenafil each month, is this what used to be called Viagra? Since my op Sept last year without using my pump I only get about 75% erection, but I suppose its still early days,my Uro said this was a trial, my GP would only prescribe 4 a month until he had a letter from Uro, 50 mg sounds a lot to me, I'm wondering if any of you are on the same, and what progress you have made. Best wishes Country boy. Diesel

Hi Diesel,

This is where everything gets confusing and why I am thinking of trying something different.

My GP prescribed 5mg Cialis daily for increasing circulation, and 50mg Viagra for an event.

Your prescription makes no sense to me, but if it works for you enjoy!

Does anyone here have any experience or knowledge of Levitra?

DD, I don't really get what you are trying to achieve or why you want to change things around. I thought that you had been posting recently that your erections had returned?

I have posted a fair bit about Levitra - John prefers it to the Viagra and unwanted side effects are fewer.

It's a guy thing!http://community.prostatecanceruk.org/editors/tiny_mce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif  A useable erection does occur, still playing daily to ensure that I get blood flowing regularly.

15 months post op, I am aware that it may take up to 2 years for my recovery to peak, and that recovery may still continue beyond that time.  Having read what others are achieving and trying I thought it would be worth experimenting to see if the body's natural recovery can be facilitated.  And this may involve adjusting the meds in both quantity and frequency.

Aside from this issue slow progress continues in other areas, urinary continence, early morning semi erections, the odd night time stirrings, and the odd midday occurrence that is useable without recent medication, afternoon delight is a possibility.  Just trying to make sire I try anything and everything.  Would hate too be in the position where later someone says "Technique X" worked for me, and I had not been aware of and not tried it.

Well it would be interesting then to stop the Cialis daily for a couple of weeks to see how much of your recovery is actually natural and how much is down to the daily dose. John stopped taking the 5mg a few months ago and has found that the ad-hoc or unprompted swellings (waking up time etc) no longer happen. As he can raise a smile when he needs one, this doesn't bother him enough to go back on the 5mg with its attendant leg aches etc.

I would definitely try the Levitra, John found that it worked faster for him than the Viagra with slightly less SEs. Nowadays, he decides which one to use based on how much in advance he is thinking and whether or not he has eaten.
