Yes, it's that time of year again, announcing the annual gathering of the crazy gang at The Mill On The Soar, Broughton Astley, Leicecester.

These have been held since 2007.

The event this year is on Saturday 18th June from 1pm onwards (buffet at 2pm).

A lot of us stay at The Mill on the Friday and Saturday nights too.

We have all 25 rooms, and you can reserve one directly through me.

As always it was great to see all of you again, and typically, laughter ruled!

There are so many of you I need to thank personally for giving such kind support to make the day go so well.

I am bound to forget some names (I was told I looked like 'one of the walking dead' when I rose from my crypt this morning. Yes, I get compliments galore in my househttp://community.prostatecanceruk.org/editors/tiny_mce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif) but if I miss anyone out, you can be sure I'll be posting with grovelling apologies later.

So here goes:

Janet (JLBatty) for organising the excellent raffle, and handling the PCUK 'stall' (it was just a table really, but 'stall' sounds grander innit?)http://community.prostatecanceruk.org/editors/tiny_mce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif

There were so many prizes on offer, and it wouldn't have been possible without the prizes which so many of you generously provided.

Raffle raised £133, badges, bags, key rings and wristbands £38.87, and £8 was added.

Janet has sent off the money before I even got home last night, and this is the reply from PCUK:

I must add a special thank you and a huge hug for Elsie Cooper (Kiltie) for just being there, despite her terrible illness.

Elsie was as fiesty and funny as ever, and by the way (if you're reading this, Elsie), Katrina was absolutely 'over the moon' to have won that special teddy bear you donated. Anyway, thank you all for making it another thoroughly enjoyable weekend.

2017 will mark the 10th Anniversary of the B2PCa Summer get-togethers.

Great to be with friends old and new, and special thanks to everyone who brought raffle prizes and bought tickets and PCUK bits and pieces, much appreciated.

Looking forward to next year already, and anyone who hasn't been before but would like to join us, please do, you will be very welcome at our special 10 year anniversary.

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to say that anyone going to this meet up will have a really good time and meet some really nice, friendly people, many of whom are on this site so you probably feel you know them already.

In addition, you'll enjoy the best buffet I've ever seen (and I've seen a lot) with a wide choice of nicely prepared food. It was definitely a highlight of last year for me and will live long in my memory.

Unfortunately, this year's date clashes with my Wedding Anniversary so I am unable to attend because of other arrangements but I will be there in spirit. I'm sad not to be there this year.

So, give it a go, you won't regret it.

So glad that the gang gave a good turn out and looking at photos on FB it looks like a whole Lorra laughs was had. Keep doing what you do George hopefully one day when I don't have so many commitments I will be able to make it.

And a big thank you for organising, yet again, a wonderful event for so many folks. Can't be easy, and must take some doing even though you are now considerably experienced as an event organiser.

A fantastic Friday evening and I was really pleased to meet up with so many gang members.

Hi Chris,

Yes it's in London in a pub near Euston Station, usually held starting around midday until the early evening.

Really worth going.

The flyer is a pub on the Euston Road between Euston and king x railway stations. It's quite big and normally quiet other than the B2PCa crowd.
Probably a good way for you to meet people without the worry of an overnight stop etc.
Some great people go. I will be in Lanzarote otherwise I would be there.

As George is aware, unfortunately Barbara and I we will not be able to attend this year either but will be thinking of the friendly people we have met at Leicester over the years and prior to that at the December meet in Birmingham. I am sure all attending will enjoy as usual.

You mentioned the December gathering in Birmingham? That brought back very happy memories of our first ever winter gathering outside London. The year was 2009 and our late great friend Mike Brooks (Brooksint) and his wife Kath organised that venue for us.

I believe the pub was called 'The Old Orleans', and we had a houseful for Christmas Lunch.

Soon after 3pm I joined a few of my fellow smokers outside (I know, I know, it's a horrible habithttp://community.prostatecanceruk.org/editors/tiny_mce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif, so I won't name them), and before we knew it the snow was falling, and it never stopped till March as far as I'm concerned, living up here in the 'Grim North'.

What a bad winter that was, but the memory of that December day has never left me.

And as you know, some of those same friends will be with us yet again in four months time.

I cannot believe how fast time passes. Mind you I'm glad a good number of us are still around to meet up with such good people yet again.http://community.prostatecanceruk.org/editors/tiny_mce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif

I feel so disappointed that I will not be able to attend this year, I really enjoyed meeting everyone last year and being able to take the photographs which I hope most people enjoyed seeing.

We have a wonderful group of people here and on B2PCa and I hope to meet them again something in the future.

There are lots of photos taken every year, and Chris (Exbus), who posted just before you, has been our main 'snapper' since Dan Sencier left to work in Africa a few years ago.
