Hi.My OH had surgery last September and no treatment since bar 20mg Cialas 8 times a month. He's had a few stirrings and was progressing but started to have pain around January so took a break from meds. Investigations yielded some inflammation but prescribed antibiotics didn't help however seems to have improved a little now but feels progress has regressed.

Now thanks to you guys we have 3 recommendations for pumps. The Somaerect response 2, The Osbon Erecaid Esteem or the Farmhurst Elite. My OH is off to do some research.

I have been told he should get advice on how to use the one he chooses but he says he won't be doing that. Who could blame him??!!

So here I am for advice! Can he purchase any of these directly himself without a prescription and do any of you have good advice on how to proceed with training first and then for practical use when I'm around!!?? Thanks so much....love the positivity on this site!!

Sorry That should have read Lyneyre at the bottom of long post not Misty! Graham thank you also for your info. All very helpful!

I've also (perhaps a little too late!) discovered that they can come in different sizes, which may be important for some gentlemen. I believe Somaerect do a good range to suit all men.

You can buy generic Cialis very cheaply online. I would recommend buying 20 mg tablets and cutting them into 4. Try him on 5mg every day. I take it at bedtime so don't feel the side effects. Buy a £5 durex stretchy cock ring from a supermarket. It can make ALL the difference and turn a partial erection into a full one in my case

I am not sure supermarkets in Ireland sell cock rings, even from a reputable mainstream company like durex? They only changed the law to allow sale on condoms about 20 years ago! I think it is still illegal to import contraception so buying online may not be as easy as it is here anyway and I think in a previous post Misty told us that when she checked prices, they are much more expensive in the online stores if being posted to RoI

Misty, I have a pump I could send you complete with DVD.

WWW.kamagrauk.com sell Erectalis 20mg tabs for around £1.50 each. So eight costing you £12 would supply you for a month when cut up. I did this myself for 4 months and quickly achieved the best results to date. Generically it is exactly the same as Cialis.
I bought a set of 3 cock rings which are clear , blue , and black from the Lovehoney website for £7. Other men I know have had great results too with these. They also do a set of three glow in the dark ones , but I prefer to leave the lights on ;-)

Now add some daily exercise on top with Lyns pump , even for just 10 minutes to fill his chambers and keep them pliant , and we will soon have you rocking and rolling !

Hi Misty, not sure about the other two but the Osborn comes with a DVD. Ideally, he should see a nurse specialist (or in some hospitals you see a representative from the pump manufacturer) - we can't really help you with technique until we know which one he gets as the technique is quite different for different models.

I think he would have to get a prescription from the GP either way - if he can afford to buy it then the GP can be asked to write a private prescription (I think the Osborn Erecaid is about £400)

You should get it NHS. Stamp your feet. Cut you up then no support. I love my somaerect response 2. Mr Wriggly is in fine shape after daily exercise for 2 yrs. Not quite the same shape but that is another story ........
It is available privately from the website imedicare.com Not sure of the cost. Very simple to use one handed. It had DVD also but not much good. You could contact me anytime to help you

Thanks for replies. We are in Rep of Ireland where there is no website like this one even never mind clinics or support...unless you want talk therapy or something!

OH's surgeon told him to buy a pump on a sex toy site...way cheaper. That has set us back about 5 months because we didnt of course and got no advice or prescription. Will probably have to buy privately and he ll have to work it out himself. Is it fairly self explanatory? He likes the look of the SomaErect Response 2 one handed one!! (Doesnt shave in shower though!)

Misty, there are some things that he would have to grit his teeth and get on with, otherwise he is going to waste his time and money :-( Trimming his pubic hair would be one of them. Fairly self-explanatory for penile health / daily exercise; a bit more complicated for sexual intercourse.

Do you not have internet in Ireland. I don't understand ? I'll try send a link for you
http://www.imedicare.co.uk/en/products/for-men/erectile-penile-health/erectile-dysfunction-recovery/

It costs £189. I'm not very good at long messages but I could talk you through it. Surely you can order online ?

Hi Chris. We do of course have internet and can order online. What we don't have is a good cancer support website like this one. When I say order privately I mean directly ourselves online rather than via pharmacy with GP prescription. I'm sure there is no financial support. We are already paying €100 a month for 8 Cialis, yet a woman who had a mastectomy here would get reconstruction done at no cost to herself. I just don't understand it!!

Our situation is that my OH doesn't have much time or inclination to wade through the internet. He's run off his feet and I am researching for him. Our kids are still fairly young and he runs a busy consultancy so it's all go.....in all OTHER areas! Sometimes I think it's hard to make the time to work on this and repeated lack of success is demoralizing. He does have some reaction with Cialis but since January it's been painful. He got it investigated and there was inflammation so he had to stop practising for a bit. It's still not fully right but he's ready to try some more though he feels he has regressed. It must be hard to have to confront these issues when it's not improving....i think he's found it easier just to get on with his busy life and hope that time would help. Anyway that's where we are at...probably one of the busiest phases of our lives!! As men get diagnosed younger and younger this is more and more common and it is so great to connect with the experience on this page!

Misty he'll have no problem shaving his pubes.... but just wouldn't want a nurse fitting it on him at this stage...or me either I'd say unless needs must. One of my daughter's first sentences was..."I want to do it myself"....I know where she got it!!

Hi LynEyre and Chris. They do sell durex in stores now but I've never seen rings. I imagine Anne Summers might have those or shops with names like "Utopia" lol!!! Must check out the generic Cialis. How can you be sure though that you arent getting fake stuff? Do you have a preferred website and a generic brand name to recommend?

LynEyre that is such a kind offer. I assume you are an admin and can see my email? Please email me!

Hi LynEyre

Just found the messaging feature now. Tried to send you my email but your inbox is full so you won't get it until you delete some messages. If you send me yours (or maybe you have already!!) I can contact you. Thanks again!

Hi LynEyre

I sent a reply....tried to private message you here with my email but you had too many messages and I couldn't send it until you delete some. I'm anxious to get moving on this as I told OH you were sending a pump so he hasn't ordered one yet. I am away till July 1st and the idea was he could try it out and see how he got on without me there. Please send me a message with your email. Thanks again, Misty.

The pump arrived two weeks ago (huge thanks to you Lyn) and OH is happily practising and delighted at how it works, though no "action" yet!! He needs to get used to getting the ring on and there's still a lot of stretching out to be done. However he says it's great to feel the blood returning to areas it hasn't been in for the past 11 months and he can orgasm successfully and painlessly himself.

I went to see the surgeon with OH for his 3rd check up (PSA normal thankfully!!) ...the day the pump arrived coincidentally! I spoke to surgeon about what we discussed here and asked about changing the meds regime as the 20mg wasn't working. Well that Dr is hooked on the 20mg and wants OH to keep taking it twice a week and add in using the pump. He didn't agree with going 5mg and something else for an event. He is going to see OH again in 2 months time and introduce some gel or tablet (You put in the top of penis....any idea what that is?) and that's where we are now.
Hubby wants to do what his doctor is saying and doesn't want to go against him. I understand that but I am not so trusting that he is getting the best information neccassarily! Also the 20mg Cialis is a mega passion killer as not having taken it for a few weeks OH has terrible back pain and is snoring like a trumpeting elephant due to being totally blocked up with it too. After 2 nights of no sleep I have bailed out!

The other thing going on is T is through the floor and while endocrinologist wants to start replacement therapy, the surgeon has said he will never prescribe it. He cited a recent study (Something to do with Nice) that I can't find, but apparently it goes against the more positive ones out there. Seems we are caught every way. The growth of a boob on just one side is destroying OH's confidence and while it doesn't bother me....it IS getting noticeably bigger. I told him he could have a boob job (reduction) if I could have one too!! (Not a reduction!) At least we can still laugh but sadly he won't swim in the sea this summer.
He is scheduled to see another doctor for a 2nd opinion on the one sided development complete with tenderness. He has already been told it's not cancer but the surgeon wants to know what it is as he thinks it should be double sided growth with low T. I was thinking about getting panicky and anxious at that....but I have googled asymmetrical gynomastasia and it is apparently quite common. Fingers crossed... not sure I can go through another year of extreme anxiety like last year before definitive diagnosis, when I thought the boob was a sign PC was in the lymph nodes and stiffness and pain from too much driving meant it was in his bones.

So that's the update! Good and bad in this ongoing tale! As a matter of interest while T levels were through the floor 1 year prior to surgery, there were no other symptoms. We made the most of the year knowing what was ahead...so not sure if it's a factor now in the lack of reaction to Cialis. I'm sure it cant be helping.

The pellets are called Muse and the cream is Vitaros - they don't work for many men but definitely worth trying.
