His canser is very agresive and became resistant to hormones within few months. We want to make consultation with specialist in UK. Could you please help me where to go for private/paid consultaion with best specialists doctors for advanced metastatic PC in UK. We will be in London next week. Thank you very much, and sorry for my not very good english.

Auntog, I deduce that you live abroad and probably are not British, so if you live abroad, you would be better off getting treatment in your own country as further treatments will involve repeated visits to an Oncologist over several months. By all means find a private sector specialist in London for advice. Google will help you there but I doubt if continuing treatment there would be a practicable proposition.

auntog, adding to Auld Codger's comments - I think if you were able to get an appointment with a private oncologist in the UK you would need to have copies of all the scans, blood test results, reports and medical notes, and presumably these would need to be translated from Bulgarian to English. Next week may be a bit too short notice to get all that in place and arrange an appointment.

However, if it is possible, and you only want a second opinion or reassurance that the treatment still available to him is the best you can get then Google is your best bet - look for oncologists that are involved in active research or have delivered talks on prostate cancer at recent British Institute of Cancer Research meetings / conferences or similar.

If you are interested in the less common treatments like immunology and/or trials you would be better going to somewhere like Germany, Italy or India. The rules in England make it difficult for doctors to get permission to do treatments that don't have sound evidence behind them.

There isn't any genetic treatment that I am aware of.

Many oncologists who work within the NHS also do private patients either at the Hospitals where they work or at other private hospitals. If in London a good start would be to contact the Royal Marsden (Fulham Branch). https://www.royalmarsden.nhs.uk/

Hope you find what you are looking for.

Treatments for PCa broadly cover a one off, those that can be repeated and then there are certain drugs. The last of these is ongoing and the cost can be extremely high and this has to be taken into consideration. In the UK, certain drugs that can be had elsewhere have not been approved. I think this has to some extent had a limiting influence on what UK oncologists adopt. Our experience of oncologists thinking outside the box in the UK is affected by this and new forms of treatment are usually restricted to approved 'trials' prior to being generally accepted. However, the Marsden, whose link I gave would know what is available worldwide that is not generally available in the UK.

Thank you very much for your responses.
Yes, we are not British and we think of private sector specialist for advice. We want to know about all possible treatments including imunological, genetic etc. and may be some experimental also. It is not easy to find a good private specialist with Google search. How to be sure that I have messaging set up to talk to people direct? Thank you.

Thank you LynEyre, yes we have all scans translated in English and blood tests also. I am not sure how to  make un appointmant with doctors in active research or have delivered talks on prostate cancer at recent British Institute of Cancer Research.

Thank you, I'll çheck this link. The problem is that in our case the canser is very agresive, and seems that standart protocol doesnt work well enough for us. Thats why we need advice from very good and experienced specialist. I am ready to go anywere to search for help. I still can not accept this diagnose and prognosis, my husband is my life. Thank you for help.
