Return of Proctitis

Hi All

I finished 20 sessions of VMAT RT at the June 2017. Had radiation proctitis/cystitis from about fraction 10 , as expected. Both lasted for about 7-8 week after treatment but slowly diminished to unnoticeable. The proctitis has returned with a vengeance: pain, wind, mucous, living in fear of farting etc etc. Anyone else had this?

I had my first post treatment PSA test on 9th October ready for seeing the urologist on 17th. Hopefully he'll be able to advise me - and be very very gentle :-)

all the best to everyone

Good luck when you see the consultant Neil

Talk to your GP or the nurse specialist - there are treatments that can prescribed to help, including a foam.

You haven't said what treatment you were given for your proctitus. Ask about Proctosedyl Suppositories ... they worked for me.
