18 Months On There is Hope!

18 months on March 2018. We kindly received a pump during the summer and had our first successful attempt at "a bit of a bonk" in September 2017, a year after surgery...using the pump. Its amazing when something is taken away from you even getting it back in a way that would have seemed awful before...now seems like such a gift!

We are not as inclined to be spontaneous now...can't be...he only likes to use the pump when we are away....too many privacy issues with 3 teenagers in a Semi D!! However we have had full sex about 5 times now...successful each time we tried. Erections still unusable without pump but definitely improving. Still on 20mg Tadalafil twice a week since a month after surgery but no longer paying €170 a month thanks to Chris's advice....buying them online now from WebMD.co.uk. The first lot we got wete from Novartis and new lot made by TEVA UK. Both work.

Other news PSA still <0.1 and continence excellent. Only problem is he gets such pleasure out of breaking wind without leaking lately...he does it in my presence ...the brat.🤣🤣🤣

Huge thanks to this website for all the support given to me (and him vicariously!!) Special thanks to Lynn-Eyre and to Chris!!

What a FANTASTIC great news post. We need plenty of those. So pleased and proud of you both for knuckling down and sticking with it. Keep using the pump even for exercise. Tadslafil has come off license so should be cheaper everywhere generically. I urge you to try 5mg daily if you can. I’m sure that was my saviour. And please remember the durex soft ring also. It can turn a ‘ just about ‘ erection into the real thing !! I’m 3 yrs post op come June and still improvements. However I do still use the pump when I’m shaving , I’m still on 5mg daily Cialis , sometimes I don’t need the ring sometimes I do. Occasionally I use the pump with tight ring for bigger and firmer haha. I still have Invicorp25 injections in the fridge which are probably out of date. They are the real deal also.
Glad about the PSA. Sounds like you’re in a good good place x

Brilliant update. The most stressful bit was taking the parcel to our village post office and having to tell the postmistress (for customs purposes apparently - our is she just nosey?) what was inside ... it will have been all over the village within an hour :-(

Yes, the patent on Cialis (tadalafil) in the EU expired around November last year, so Eli Lilly no longer have the monopoly on production. Teva are producing a generic version, and I know Sanofi are doing the same.

Other countries have been producing generics for years, of course. I remember the 20mg “Megalis” generic that I bought for a song over the counter In India and Sri Lanka. I think Lilly just let them get away with it, or maybe it’s the kind of altruism where HIV retro-viral drugs are sold in Africa for a dollar a day, whereas in the West they cost $$$

Surprisingly, although I could buy antibiotics over the counter at Boots the Chemists in Bangkok, Tadalafil required a doctor’s prescription.

My pharmacist says that when Viagra (sildenafil) went off-patent and generics appeared, the prices were not very much cheaper, but the prices declined subsequently as more competition appeared.

I used to pay £53 for a 28 x 5mg daily dose of Cialis for my slightly droopy dick as I had a deal with the chemist. It should have been around £80 a month. Now I have PCa I get it for “free” on the NHS. Every cloud has a silver lining! I note the last prescription was the Teva generic.

I suspect my slight ED is down to atherosclerosis, rather than my recently-diagnosed PCa, as I remember buying some over-the-counter Viagra from Wal-Mart in Acapulco about twenty years ago, which made me feel sick. Tadalafil is great.
