Onco appointment today PSA remains undetectable, testosterone still controlled at 0.24. Bit concerned over last 4 weeks about lower back pain, particularly when driving my Onco suspects it's degenerative old age pain and unrelated to PCA.
Off on another cruise next week out of Rome visiting Greece Montenegro and Croatia. Hope the sunshine sorts my back pain out. If only someone would insure me for PCA for less than £2k .....

Great news Jasper. The only reason I got cheaper insurance at last was because I had Bone and CT scans proving that all mets were under control , and hence I could answer the recent scan question properly that all the companies use. I did stress to them that it’s the PSA that is important and not mostly the scans , and that someone needs to address this for PCa

It's a good point Chris, I haven't had a CTI scan since diagnosis in July 2018. I wouldn't mind finding out what this bony metastasis on my right hip is actually doing because it doesn't seem to be causing me any problems.

Tried Allclear this morning for a quote, as soon as I told them the cancer has spread out of the prostate the quote jumped to £1250, the cruise was £1600.

That quote was also limited to Europe so plans for the Caribbean next Spring will have to be scrapped.

If I had a £10 grand car sure I wouldn't be paying £8k for insurance. Bad enough having cancer without being stiffed every time you want to go away.

Jasper I was ranting down the phone last year and pulling teeth out. It’s actually infuriating trying to explain that you haven’t had recent scans because they monitor psa instead. Like talking to a brick wall. And they ALL use EXACTLY the same question matrix. I did bring this up repeatedly with my Oncology specialist nurse and I guess that’s what led to me getting the scans done. As soon as I could say all mets smaller or reduced I was back in the good books 📚.
But yes you’re right - a bit of a travesty when all seems well and your life is limited anyway. I better tell the Mrs I’m doing back to back cruises for a year ……..

Jasper, good news on the PSA.

Has anyone checked you for osteoporosis? You really should be if on long term HT, and it might also be responsible for back pain (although lots of other potential causes too).

Also, reading your profile, I'm curious, did the Pomi-T have any impact on finger joint pain?

Hi Andy

Had dexa scan about 6 months ago and bone density was normal.

Italian sunshine seems to have sorted by back problems for now, daily Pomi T has helped finger stiffness definitely.

So feeling fully refreshed after great cruise holiday.

Good to see Lyn back on the forum.
