Sleep Problems After Robotic Surgery

Before my op, I thought I could have been an international in the sleeping stakes.  However, even allowing for the fact I have to get up in the night once or twice, I have difficulty in falling asleep, regardless of how tired I feel.  Sometimes it can be well over an hour before I drop off, and if I start dreaming, I will wake up.  Has anyone else had such problems?  I certainly don't want to start using sleeping pills.

Anesthetic can have this effect. My husband keeps waking up because of trips to toilet which then takes him ages to get back to sleep. He seems to have best sleep between 6 to 7 am.

nightingale is exactly right.  The anesthetic can have a variety of strange, sometimes lasting effects.  Fortunately,  most are temporary.  All the best to you.

Things have definitely improved in the last few days.  Sleeping much better, and didn't even have to get up in the night, so slept for well over 8 hours.  Let's hope it's the sign of things to come!
