We knew it was close but it is still devastating to lose a man of Topgun's stature. Rest in Peace Barrington, a true gentleman, soldier, and fantastic human being. Karen and the family have supported Barry so well, it must have been such a difficult time for you, please accept our sincere condolences on the loss of a top man.

John and I are so sad today but in some way relieved for our dear friend, no more suffering. You did kick that Pca in to touch for so long Barry, and in doing so you gave hope to so many.

The world is a lesser place today.

With love

Have followed TG's story since I joined the forum over a year ago. So many thanks for his compassion and support to others as well as the unique humour which his posts so often contained ! I am thinking of Karen and the family with love. A while back I lit a candle to remember WW1 and placed it in our bedroom  window. I will do the same tonight to remember Barry and the inspiration he was to so many...

Barrington, RIP our dear friend, go upwards and join our previous heroes at their party in the sky, YOU will not be forgotten as you touched so many with your words of encouragement even when you knew you were failing.

Our prayers to Karen, James and Chris and the rest of the family, GOD BLESS.

It's been a privilege to know and interact with Barry over the past couple of years. He and Karen have faced the last year with such reserves of strength and good humour it has simply been awe inspiring.

Barry knew his time was fading and he has dealt with that with the same humour and realism which has guided him throughout the years. My heart goes out to Karen and her family as they adjust to a life without such a big presence. His pain has ceased and for that we can take some comfort. I hope that in the coming days his family and friends can celebrate a unique and beautiful life. He deserves that send off. RIP Barry.

I am glad that Barry's pain is now gone, I'm glad that he is at peace.

But I am so sad that he will now have left a void in his family's life.

Karen and James and all of you. You will never forget the gentle man that he was, and neither will we.

I didn't know him long but his humour always shone through and his kindness and caring for the rest of us was a privilege to share.

Long may Barry's memory live on in all of us who are on this journey. May we, in his memory, continue to help each other as best we can.

Best Wishes Karen and Family

Barry faced this with the courage and resolve that made him the person he was.
His family I am sure, whilst grieving his loss, will feel immensely proud of him.

I personally will miss the banter I had with him as well as the support he gave me

I send mine and Lesley's sincerest condolences

RIP old lad
