How is the new site doing?

I am sorry but I don't find things going well at all.

I was on here every day with help and support for the newbies.

Now I am looking at the site rarely.

I was diagnosed in 2008 and found yananow.net. This site lifted me from the depths  back to life and I would have really struggled without  the support.

I later found this site and helped others along the path some of us have to take.

Now it does not work.

Look at the frequency of access from our people and you must surely see we are not getting there

and eventually this site will cease to exist as people will try to find what they need else where which will be a shame.

Please please sort it out.

Dave just started to post a reply and the site said it had an error not a good start.

I only started using the web site in December so do not know what the old site was like.

I did come across yananow but there does seem to be more interaction on this site.

Not sure if there is anything better out there and this site still gives a lot of good help, advice and support.

Local Support group meeting are too infrequent and from "my" experience do not cater for newbies and volunteers are thin on the ground.

Thanks Chris

Have to agree with your sentiments Dave.

I've given up trying to log in under my own name and so just post on Kim's logon which we leave open on the iPad. Even then we just look at recent conversations so are sure we miss lots of posts - or is it a case that only the stalwarts have persevered against the odds to keep in touch and posting (much credit to them) and newbies etc find the site too awkward to bother with.

I know my level of posting has dropped dramatically since the inception of the new site http://community.prostatecanceruk.org/editors/tiny_mce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-undecided.gif. It's simply too complex to navigate and very user unfriendly. I know I would be put off as a newbie! It's the lack of a clear simple landing page and the ability to quickly see what's been happening - this is more like a rabbit warren http://community.prostatecanceruk.org/editors/tiny_mce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-undecided.gif.  For those that want to try it, there's always The Dark Side:

http://pcasupportforum.proboards.com/

It's not meant as an alternative to PCUK and as it's not easy to find without referral, it's probably not for newbies, but all are welcome http://community.prostatecanceruk.org/editors/tiny_mce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-undecided.gif

You may post without moderation and few if any subjects are Taboo.

I will continue to do my best to support this site but I fear the "overhaul" has been a retrograde step http://community.prostatecanceruk.org/editors/tiny_mce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-undecided.gif.

Perhaps PCUK could produce some usage statistics to show us if the new site had really had an impact on activity that some users are suggesting?
