Hi All, I am a fifty year old male who has PCa. I was diagnosed just over a year ago with locally advanced PCa. I have been on hormone therapy (Goserelin), have had a TURP operation, have had fudicial marker implants and have just finished radical radiotherapy about 2 months ago. I am no longer on the hormone therapy. I am now waiting for my first follow up in January 2015. Here's hoping. Thank You. Stevie.

Hi Stevie,

Let's hope the HT and RT you have had eradicates the PCa. It's a long time before your PSA test in January and even then it needs further tests to see how you are doing as the RT continues to damage cancer cells for something like 2 years after RT has been given. The effects of the HT you had will end much sooner. Like you I did not have HT after RT but having it for anything up to 3 years after RT is becoming more common now and I rather wish I had been offered it as my PSA is slowly rising and I may have to go back on to it before very long anyway.

Let us know how it goes.

Barry
