Hi, I have just had my appointment through for possible Brachytherapy treatment. On the letter it say's I have to have a Prostate Estimation prior to my clinic appointment. What does this involve? Thanks.
I think it is done by ultrasound - brachytherapy is not suitable for men with a large prostate so they want to check the likely volume by measuring the width and length. Estimating volume also tells them how many brachytherapy seeds they might need.
