Mobile site access – me and others or my mobile

Ok so my smart, what a misuse of the word as if its so smart why is the ‘How to use’ manual so long?

It objected to a few drops of rain by refusing to communicate with me. A strip down and a long soak in a cold bath of rice soon changed that attitude; well at least it got it talking sometimes. Neither it seems was it keen on a dip in the glass size pool of orange juice, unsure if that was down to the flavour or the wetness? It’s never been keen on a bit of sand/cement/soil, now it’s that disgruntled it’s cracked up, bit of super glue might fix that.

Reception I’m told is good as I’m circa mid point of a 4G area, a day with any kind of G would be welcome.

Site access: so is it my smart phone or the site. The dilemma: I come on via PC all ok and for awhile all is Ok(ish) from the phone even on a low G day. Then it just doesn’t want to get on here anymore. Not so bad accessing the main page and links from that except the ‘on line community’. It just hangs around with I believe a smug background tone of ‘dream on’.

Similar to my desktop  Ray. Just freezes up after I've read a few threads. I can switch to another browser but that won't recognise password so can't post or see who is posting. Becomes a bit pointless........

I've never had such long-term problems on any other forum and I would imagine similar experience must put folk off.

Hi Guys,

I know I may come across as a luddite, but I still try to keep my mobile phone and the Internet as separate entities, as I have lots of problems with each, poor rural broadband and Microsoft constantly 'upgrading' my computer whenever I go on-line.

Anyway enough of that, I have been away from this site for a while, and it is good to know that you two are still going strong.

I've just had HDR Brachytherapy and a week later my backside feels like its on fire, but I won't pollute your string with such trivia, just good to know you are both still out there

Guys, I use my phone, iPad, Samsung tablet & laptop depending where I am in the country and it never freezes. Is it an IE problem (I use chrome) or some difference like that perhaps?

Dave, sorry about your backside :-(

When on my mobile I tend to go in from a link on an email which then allows easy access through Chrome.

Had problems getting to the site for 4 days about a week ago, thought that maybe it was down or undergoing maintenance? My access to the site has been prevented since, the loading bar moves about 25% across the loading gauge and stops.

Have to shut down and restart the laptop. Using Yosemite on a MacBook Air.

Links do not work when this happens.

Using the windows laptop to get on is easier, usually.

Got to persevere.

Rob, Would I think such a thing http://community.prostatecanceruk.org/editors/tiny_mce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif

Dave, you're also going strong albeit with a hot rear end for awhile. Keep going well.

As regards PC/Tablets we haven't been in one place long enough to make it worthwhile getting a landline/broadband, although my OH says we move no more, but you never know http://community.prostatecanceruk.org/editors/tiny_mce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif So its mobile only or access from other PC's when I can.

Good luck with PCa travels and getting on here.

Update: my mobile is now insisting it's not a curved one so is refusing to allow side buttons to work until it's straight - pain. Is having a relationship, stormy at times, with a smart mobile one of the going over the top signs  http://community.prostatecanceruk.org/editors/tiny_mce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif

Whether it be the photos of dustbins to warn my smart phone it could well be going there, luck or the web people here I can now get on line sometimes, even with just two bars via a single or a mix of ‘g’ or ‘e’ or ‘h’ or just possibly ‘3g’.

Thanks to?
