Hello Sully and welcome.
Just as a matter of interest, what do you consider low PSA.
My husband was on AS for a year before he had to make a decision about treatment. There are other treatments available apart from surgery. My husband, for instance, opted for seed implant Brachytherapy.
This is a one off treatment which will, hopefully, treat his cancer completely.
You say you were told you would need surgery at some point. Were any other treatments mentioned to you?
You could help yourself by getting hold of the Toolkit from this site. Go back to the Home page, click on Prostate Information, then Our Publications and go from there.
Good luck and Best Wishes
Sandra

Hi Sully,
you have said on your profile that your PSA is 0.9 - is that correct? If so, I am really curious about what led to you being diagnosed???
