HI Arthur,

Thanks for posting.

As so often happens when reports appear in newspapers, the title and or the content can be misleading. Contrary to what it says in the title, HIFU is NOT a treatment for men with advanced cancer but for where the cancer is confined to the Prostate. It may be considered an advanced but by no means new treatment. There are few centers in the UK providing this treatment but more surgeons are being trained. The surgeon A in the article is the man who first interviewed me at UCLH when I was considered there for the HIFU 'Forecast' trial.

I was trying to make people aware of this option, subject to their specialist agreeing it's suitable, is now available in Harlow

Hi Arthur,

HIFU can be a good option for some men as a primary or salvage treatment and it is good that members report developments like this, so thank you again.

Unfortunately, the title of the article may have given hope to men with advanced cancer until they read the article because HIFU cannot treat advanced PCa but only cancer that which is in contained within the Prostate.
