Results day!

Whoopeedoo!two months post op and today was results day. Fully recovered,no pain, 99.9% continent, sadly no nether region stirrings yet but feeling one hundred percent fit and back to full normal life. a huge success as far as I am concerned and time to get on with the rest of my life.

Sadly my ballon was not punctured, more exploded. After the usual pleasantries down to the nitty gritty. Gleason increased on biopsy to 4+5=9., not a huge surprise as others on here had warned me that was possible. The biggy was the PSA in at a whopping.0.18. Explained in laymans terms to me as some nasty cells are still present and doing there best work to spoil my day. No question about their achieving that. The suggestion is I meet with the oncologist when available to discuss RADICALS trial for treatment with radiotherapy and hormones possibly.

Home to ask my mate Google to explain it all to me, not exactly encouraging news but slightly more informed . After a long conversation with one of the specialist nurses from PCA ( thanks so much for your wise words)my mind is rather clearer and the way forward decided. Not a case of why me, poor me, how will I ever cope, more what a b****** but bring it on, I will deal with it and whatever else it decides to inflict on me. Whose body is this anyway. I ain't looking to share it with you PCA.

P***** off but prepared for the next instalment Dick

Dick,

Good that you have a positive attitude to your situation and will do what it takes to beat PCa or at least give it a long fight which is perhaps the best that anybody can do. Treatment is continually being refined and the range of possibilities increased so outcomes should improve. How men will react to treatment individually is not certain but not contemplating whether you will have your life shortened by PCa or an accident or for any other reason, enables you to think of more positive things and enjoy life which is the great thing.
