Cialis- a query

My OH has been taking daily cialis since week 5 post RRP last December. While it doesn't seem to have had the desired effect, he has persisted, mainly due to advice I have picked up on here. He has almost given up several times but his gp has managed to control the side effects with other tablets, and he feels it's worth it.

Yesterday I picked up the leaflet which comes in the box and had a read through. There's something there about cialis being used to treat bhp. It says that the cialis will relax the bladder, helping ease the symptoms of bhp.

My oh still has quite a high level of incontinence ten months on. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge which might connect cialis with continuing incontinence?

Hi Louise1969,

I have been on Cialis since my op, May 2013, and did have SE but persisted and have got over those. SE to good effect, and with very happy results since. ]

I did not do any PFEs as after trying for several weeks I found that all they did was exhaust me.

So, 2 years and 6 months on I am dry, apart from around 5 pm when I may leak a tad, normally after a hard day of work, manual work that is.

Funnily enough, after say 6pm, I can drink moderately, even to excess and still be dry.  No logic is there?  o as far as I can see.

If you want more info, PM me?

No, I haven't seen or read of anything to suggest that Cialis 5mg has contributed to incontinence and John took Cialis for about 4 years without any bladder problems.

However, I wonder about the first part of your post. What is he doing about getting erections? The daily dose won't do that on its own so if he hasn't tried already it may be time to try taking 3 or 4 tablets together (being careful not to take any the day before or after). Alternatively, ask the GP to change the prescription to Cialis 20mg (you might get 4 or 8 per month) or Viagra.

The incontinence must be AWFUL after all this time. Most of the guys recently on here ( including me ) were dry quite quickly. I was fully continent at 10 weeks luckily. It must be putting him off !
I am on no tablets at all as recommended by my area. As I've said to you before , for many men the pump can work amazingly , and provide penetrative sex efficiently. No it's not quite the same but provides both with hope. And hope can provide easier naturals etc. I've not even had the slightest stir yet naturally. Now u have time then use the pump regularly. Make sure he is trimmed to make fitting easier. Use lube. Make sure u have the right rings and if u don't then phone up and buy them. You might need two. It can be fun instead of horrendous. We high-fived first time.
And then there are injections! There is a post about that at the mo . It ain't all that bad.
Louise you can do it. Definitely. I hope you can rest now summer is over

He Was prescribed viagra initially, but advice on here suggested he should be on cialis, so this is what we requested. Earlier in the year, it was suggestedwe should stay on this.

He will be the first to admit he hates the pump and only uses it once a week. We run our own company and the summer is always frantic. Now we are at the end of the year, we have time to take stock, and spend a bit more time. I think his problems are partly psychological on the ED front. He has had semis, but they take some effort. He needs physical stimulation whereas he didn't before. He needs to get his head round this. Added to this the fact that he has a physical job and is battling the incontinence doesn't help.

We went for an appointment with the surgeon two weeks ago. He said that if the oh has had some reaction, this is good news, and means that nerve saving has worked and there is some level of repair.

We will get round to spending some time in bed where we don't just collapse into a exhausted sleep soon. I think a bit more effort is required before we write anything off yet!
