My other half finished radiotherapy on 29th dec 2016 and for the past 2 weeks he has had really bad back pain and in his side his gp sent us to a & e last week where the dr there said he thought it was inflammation of tissue due to radiotherapy and put him on tramadol and ibrufen has anyone else experienced this ? would love to hear any advice.

Hi,

Sorry for your OH's position but I know that I felt totally wrecked finishing 37 RT sessions.

I didn't have the problems you refer to but hopefully the medication can help.

From my own experiences it took several months to readjust to a more normal way of life, so don't expect too much to soon.

Hope all goes well for you both.

Blueyonder, did you contact the nurse specialist, your partner's oncologist or the radiotherapy suite? Or do you know whether anyone in A&E did? If not, I think it would be a really good idea to get on the phone to your allocated nurse tomorrow and confirm that the onco is aware - if it was my husband or dad I would want the onco to give him a check over just in case it is nothing to do with the radiotherapy!
