Morning
Am trying to change diet to combat the extra pounds
Wondering what others have for breakfeast
I love my porridge with honey and nuts with soya milk
But need to look at alternatives not sure how they will taste with soya milk
The running at the mo has gone up the swanny

Hi,

Breakfast usually includes Losartan, Amlodipine, Nicorandil, Bisoprolol, Ticagrelor, Aspirin, Tamsulosin, Adcal-D3, Cold Liver Oil Capsule and Sertraline all mixed together with a good helping of Zoladex thrown in. Finished off with a puff of Symbicort Turbohaler and frequent doses of GTN spray throughout the day.

If there's any room for any food at breakfast time after all the meds, I usually have a banana and sometimes a bowl of cereal with soya milk.

Hi Guys,

I know I will get told off, but breakfast for me is black coffee and a cigarette.

Apart from Ramipril, Asprin and Tamsulosin, I rarely take solids untill after noon.

:)

Always porridge with soya milk for me - now find semi skimmed milk tastes too rich. An avocado (if suitably mushy) on toast and whatever else I can find that suits my amended PCa diet ( i.e. fruit) . Start about 6.00 and finish about 8.30. I'm a grazer ! No butter nor flora etc though.
And as my wife says I'm piling on extra weight in the unwanted places I'm trying to be good now ..... So try to eat a little less throughout the day and exercise as often as I can.

1 Tablespoon of Sultanas
1 Tablespoon of Pumpkin seeds
4 Dates
4 Tablespoons of Muesli - no added sugar
Soya milk

Swallowed down by a mug of fruit/herb flavoured drink - so really just warm water

Honey, would love to but for me that and weight control don't go together

Do I miss a fry up? At first yes but I prefer such treats at another time.

Nidge,

Breakfast for most people contains the least calories of all the daily meals and is almost irrelevant to weight control.  Ensure you walk plenty after breakfast (whatever it is) and think more about those lunch and dinner calories and walk after at least one of those meals too.  Activity burns calories.  Sitting, stuffing your face puts pounds on.  Simple, yes?

Weekdays usually museli or other cereal with almond milk...much nicer than milk in cereal.
Weekends might involve bacon or sausage a bread roll and tommie sauce...yum could eat one now actually

Breakfast 2 rashers smoked bacon, a fried egg, poached or an omelette if I am working away and the hotel chef can do one, fried tomatoes and brown toast.

The last chef cooked me an egg fritata, dry, burnt, like rubber. Ghastly. Poached eggs the following day.

Semi skimmed milk in coffee or with muesli.

Have taken to eating tomatoes as a snack, and or when driving. The cherry plum ones are delicious and fine to have on the passenger seat. Read or heard somewhere that anything red is generally good for you, wine etc!

Hi Nidge
If I'm running in the morning I'll have a banana otherwise I start with half a squeezed lemon then organic home made muesli with organic nuts and coconut milk (Alpro) usually with slices kiwi and banana (both organic). Sometimes alternate with sliced pineapple. After that two slices of organic bread toasted with a little butter and organic honey. I drink pineapple and green tea.
Also I take solenium tablet, vitamin C.and my enzalutamide tabs.
Very rarely have a boiled egg instead of muesli

Hope that helps. I'm still getting more fatigued though but can still manage a 10K

Dave ,

Great post ! And after all you've been though , well why not ! My RT friend smokes his pipe everyday, even indoors. His view ? I'm out to enjoy life to the full. I'm not changing anything at all.

Hi Guys,

The good thing about my breakfast is that it is lo-salt, lo-carb, lo-sugar, lo-fat, vegan and dairy free, so it must be doing me good?

:)

Breakfast for me is bowl of fruit & fibre with a weak tea, all with soya milk. Pehaps once a week I substitute 2 slices of lightly toasted 50/50 bread covered in butter and topped with half sugar marmalade and maybe once a month a full English breakfast for the fruit & fibre.

Lunch is usually a salad or something light with a modest Main meal in the evening.

I am partial to choc ices and have one most days and perhaps 1/2 bar of chocolate so I might have to cut back on these to lower my excess weight.

Also, I don't play sport as I once did so I am planning to do more exercise. The unfortunate thing is as you become more overweight, the less you are inclined to exercise and thereby put on weight so the spiral continues.

A professional gardener I know is very trim and fit. He eats virtually nothing for 2 days in 7. If all else fails, I might try this, perhaps fasting 1 day a week to start with and trying not to overeat on the other 5.
