Feeling a bit down today

Hi All

Having a bad day and feeling a bit down.

Finished my HDR Brachy and RT 10 weeks ago.Feeling tired from the hormone treatment.I'm stage 3 G9.

I've had this dull feeling on the right side of my stomach for ages.I saw my GP who had a feel and said she couldn't find anything suspicious.

This is the GP who didn't refer me in the first place as I took action and had a private scan which found my cancer. So to say I have a lack of confidence is understating how I feel.

I feel quite isolated and a bit angry today.

Any advice from you guys would be appreciated.

Dave

Evening Dave,
Sorry you are feeling it today. We all get days like this. I can understand your lack of confidence in the GP. Our GP mis-diagnosed our daughter for over 20 years on the basis of her age and then it was life threatening.

I don't have the knowledge of your treatment (we went the low dose Brachy route) but I'm sure others can equate to your feelings and hopefully will be along soon.

Being tired will have a knock on effect which won't help the "down" feeling and the discomfort can't be helping.

Hang in there until somebody more knowledgeable than me comes along

Hello Dave

Yes we all get those days, weeks etc, especially if something is causing concern. My advice would be to ask to see a different GP and tell them how anxious you are. I doubt it is anything to worry about but I think we know our bodies best and we know if they aren't right. Let's be honest, it's not normal to have a dull feeling in ones stomach so what did she say it could be?

You could consider ringing the charity specialist nurses for a chat tomorrow, I'm sure they'd give you good advice.

Take care

Dave,

If you have lost trust in your GP, it's time to change to another.

Really!

Hi Dave
There's one thing to lose trust but don't lose faith, take action and change your GP. Doing that will feel like you're taking more control of what's happening.
In terms of dull aches it does need checking out.
I recently started getting out of puff and aches in my chest. The English GP did ecg ( non mobile) plus. Hole sterol. I went on holiday and my French doctor sent me for X Ray, blood test and CT Scan (Which I've been asking for for the last year) and they found I had a cracked rib and some globule in the lung (to be further investigated in 6 months). Also referred me to have another ecg but after exercise.
So yes get it checked out with another GP.
Paul
