All main treatments have seen refinements over the last 10-15 years and this is now happening with HIFU as better results are being experienced where only the tumour(s) are being treated rather than the whole gland. A further refinement is the 'fused' MRI scan which is expected to pave the way for even better results. For those men who are suitable this may be a good option as it becomes more widely available.
