Support after treatment finishes

My OH is about to finish his HT treatment after 18 months and 20 fractions of radiotherapy last dec his specialist nurse has said he will have his psa tested every 6 months but no scans necessary. Surely they would want to see if his tumor has shrunk or spread when I said this she just said it was a wait and see. I worry constantly every day could we insist on having a scan ?  blueyonder.

Hi Blue, it is probably more important for the time being to see what happens to the PSA without hormones. The prostate will be severely damaged by the RT which means it would be quite hard to see anything useful on a scan.

Hi Blueyonder,

I finished HT last November and have only been having blood tests including PSA since then, no mention of scans
