Hello,

I have been diagnosed with locally advanced prostrate cancer stage T3A. My PSA reading was 12, and I am Gleason 3+4.

I have met with the surgeon who says that the MRI scan shows that the cancer is possibly just coming out of the casing of the prostrate though it is difficult to say how much because the reading was taken after the biopsies. He says with surgery there is a chance that the cancer is 80% + curable.

I am meeting with the Oncologist on 17th October to discuss Radiotherapy as an alternative treatment. I will read up as much as I can before that meeting but don't feel I can make any decisions till I have seen the oncologist. It is quite a slow process as it must be over 4 months since I was diagnosed though I imagine the ball will soon start rolling. ( so to speak)

This is my first post though I have been reading other posts up till now.
