Change of staging

Hello - the nurse originally told us that the staging was T3b N1 M1 but we have now had a letter confirming T3b N4 M1b.

Does anyone know the significance - particularly of the fact that the nodes is now N4 rather than N1.

Thank you x

I had five of eighteen lymph nodes cancerous but was classed N1.
Google says N4 is extensive lymph involvement.

Just to add the report also says about lymph nodes : ' bulky nodes in the pelvis and para-aortic regions'

Hi Sally

I'm afraid I don't know what the significance of the N4 score is: here's a link to a useful overview of the other scores...https://prostatecancerinfolink.net/treatment/staging-grading/clinical-staging/ - the M score means that there's bone spread but no spread to other organs. Hope you are able to talk to someone in the care team sooner rather than later so that these impossible to deal with bits of clinical information might begin to feel more manageable.

Thinking of you. Take care.
