Hello again, I have not posted for a while now, but need to put this out.
I had a radical prostatectomy in May 2011, and follow up salvage radiotherapy in 2013.
In 2015...out of the blue.....I started passing large quantities of blood , including clots, but when the hospital tried to access my bladder , for a look around, they could not do so due to the amount of scar tissue in the area around the bladder neck/ urethra junction.
They eventually did get access , under anesthetic, and did a bladder neck incision and cystoscopy.......sorted!
Except...in Dec 2017 I passed blood again - smaller quantities and less times but this was sufficient for my specialist to want another peek in the bladder.
Ho hum...same result upon trying to access the bladder....no entry due to scar tissue, so another cystoscopy / bladder neck incision was quickly sorted ...done...and I was again ...after TWOC.....home and feeling OK, until a few days later...I was unable to pass urine.
Referred to the Surgical Assessment Unit at Stepping Hill ( who were as usual excellent) by the NHS out of hours service- I was eventually catheterised again and am currently awaiting TWOC .
This situation is very scary....and I feel very unsure about what is around the corner.
Is there anyone out there who has had similar experiences.
I would be very interested in anything you might want to say on the subject.
Thanks in advance.
Regards to all.
