I am not in the same boat as you regards crohns but my PSA is also on the rise and RT is on the horizon, following an ongoing stricture problem it was suggested having my bladder removed and having a stoma fitted would improve my quality of life. It is a major operation and following counseling I rejected the proposal. My consultant suggested I get a second opinion and following a meeting with another consultant we have come up with and alternative plan.

Thanks Chris

Nick

I am having a SPC fitted prior to RT just in case the RT has an adverse effect on the urethra. If the urethra is still useable  following RT then I may just live with a slow flow. If the urethra is compromised and provided the PSA falls I will then have reconstructive surgery to the urethra, and possibly an AUS, not a simple route but gives me a chance to get back to being "my" normal. The other point of my reply was, my consultant had discussed my situation with his peers and knowing my reluctance to losing my bladder it was "his" suggestion to obtain a second from outside his normal team.  What is the reason for your possible bladder removal ?

Thanks Chris
