Increased prostate.

Hi, I am a 51 year old man, just had tears done 2 days ago, prostate reading came back with 6.1.

Got a fast track appointment with the advanced nurse practitioner on the 2nd June.

Just a bit concerned,

Should i need to worry???

Hi Mo, your PSA is a little high but that could simply mean you have some infection or an enlarged prostate, not necessarily cancer. Why was the PSA test done - did you have some symptoms?

Lyn is right - it isn't necessarily cancer. However, you must follow through and discuss with the hospital. I'm 46 and had a PSA of 6.2 and did have cancer. So, get whatever tests done that the hospital feels necessary. It's the only way to be sure.
