Normocytic aneamia

Hi all.

Had a blood test last week and had the results sent to me today. I was tested for B12, full blood count and PSA . I was quite chuffed as my PSA had reduced from 84 to 0.2 after 3 months of hormone therapy. But my heamoglobin and red blood count are low. My son who is a gp has said I have normocytic aneamia. So not too pleased about that. Has anyone else had this happening. I should add that i have kidney cancer and had my left kidney removed in May.

Not something I can recall happening. There seems to be a number of causes. Let's hope that in your case it's an iron deficiency which I think can be fairly easily dealt with. What does your GP son say and suggest you do?
