Hello

I am writing this having been with my husband today for biopsies. He had psa that triggered an urology referral. DRE found prostate was ‘firm’

His father had prostate cancer with bone metastasis and died age 80.

Don’t really know what to expect and wondered if anyone else had any words of wisdom

A firm prostate is not usually a good sign. Do you know how high the PSA was and did they do an MRI scan before the biopsy? The fact that his dad had PCa is probably not indicative - about 60% of men in their 60s and 80% of men in their 80s have prostate cancer although not all get diagnosed.
