detrusitol not working

hi,been taking 2mg of detrusitol nightly as i am still getting up 5 times a night,been taking them for 2wks now  not doing any good it is hard to hold back the urgency, i have never used any pads but looks like i will have to start any ideas the best ones thankyou.

Aaaaagggghh! Radar, this is why you should take the tablets and treatments your medical team prescribe, rather than mixing it up and stopping / starting things because of what you read in the papers. Have you still got your Tamsulosin? Start taking them again - but check with a chemist first whether you should stop the Detrusitol first.

lyn, im taking the medication i saw my gp and he said stop the tamsolusin because i said they were making me weak,regards detrusitol gp phoned me and asked how i was getting on with detrusitol and i said they are doing no good and she said to keep on them for a month  been on 2wks so far waste of time .

My recollection was that the specialist told you to stick with the tamsulosin because weakness is not a recognised side effect?

lyn, when i saw the first gp because of constipation he said to stop the tammy so i did,but it didnt stop the constipation,the next gp said to reinstart so i did,couple of wks later was feeling really weak so i went back another gp i asked if i could have 1 like every other day he said to please myself about taking it,so you see you get conflicting things from different gps,it is hard to see the same gp you have got to get in when you can,i have still got tamsolusin i might start taking 1 during the day.regards side effects weakness is there so is constipation.
