What is arterial enhancement?

So here I am again and asking expert advice. Does anyone one know what this means please?

MRI scan shows a 10mm focus of subtle early arterial enhancement within the right peripheral zone mid gland posteriorly.

The consultant asked for and urgent PETscan which he’s had with a review in six weeks. Mega confused with the jargon.

It is simply a way for the radiographers to describe what was seen on the scans. Early arterial enhancement means that there was an area which reflected the light rays quicker than other areas - which is indicative of cancer cells. It means that the scan suggests that he may have a new tumour in the irradiated prostate.
