User
Posted 14 Apr 2018 at 08:54
Hi all I know it's been many years since last here

my apologies will update what's been going on one thing to remember is 5 years after treatment and PSA not detected.

The main reason is to see if anyone else has had this problem.

I am now on 20 mcg of caverject only gives me 6 instead of the 8 I'm entitled to.

But more important when I use them I

Eak alot of urine when try to make love to my wife, would like to speak to someone who has used them and have or heard about the problem and what fixed itmy next appointment is in sept I'm sure they will see me sooner but would like to find out if anyone else in same position.

cheers Adrian

Very similar injection. Same technique but different medicines. I still use the pump after 4 yrs post op. Normally 3 times a week whilst shaving. It’s a no brainier really. Keep him healthy

You should never inject yourself and then use a pump , as the vacuum could cause a big bleed. I don’t inject at all anymore. I’m fully repaired and able to have sex at will but use daily 5mg Cialis ( Tadalafil). I expect you will only get 4 injections per month , and believe me if you only have 4 good erections per month then your penis tissue will slowly die and your penis will become shorter and may even develop a bend. Remember a normal man gets erections all through the night and day which keeps him healthy. When you want sex then use an injection. Otherwise use the pump purely for exercise as much as you can ok.

Bearing in mind you have a freshly made puncture in your penis you must use a condom. It does heal quickly but that’s not the point. Expelling air is easy. Point the syringe vertically upwards and flick the side a few times with your finger. Any air will be at the top. Squeeze plunger gently until a drop of fluid shows. Glad you’ve found a solution mate for now. Invicorp 25 injection is even better in my opinion

You were complaining a while back that you couldn’t get it up!

Now you’re complaining that you can’t get it down lol! 😄

PS

I’m only kidding ...

If 5 mcg does that to you... then you might need to revert to a different medication?

Use the injections when sex is your aim with a partner. Otherwise as much as possible use the pump to attain an erection on your own. Just to keep him stretched and healthy. I guess my real recovery came after 2 yrs post op when I fought for daily Cialis. He’s virtually back to normal now , even length wise , but I put that down to regular pump use !! Not sure I want to give up on him again with HT and Chemo. Nice to see him totally back to normal.

Despite being all but fully continent three months after surgery , the one thing that would cause a leakage of urine was an erection about to be used. Hard to explain I guess. The more I recovered and had sex the less the leakage and none at all now. How recently have you achieved full erections and been able to have penetrative sex ? Are you continent normally ? If it’s a new thing then I think it will improve with practice.

User

I don’t think it is anything to do with the caverject, just a side effect of RP. We are 8 years post-op and although John is fully continent in all other circumstances, he still leaks urine during sex. I have never told him and I don’t think he has ever noticed.

PS when you say they only give you 6 rather than the 8 you are entitled to, do you mean 6 every two months? Under NICE guidelines you are only entitled to 4 injections per month.

Hi Adrian.

I can't really comment on your caverject issues as we are just using the pump so don't know much about it but WOW!!!I have just read your profile and 5 years with undetectable PSA is brilliant.

Long may it continue.😀

Dear Saint Lynn and others

I have been advised by the ED clinical nurse to use caverject injections.

So at the clinic I injected my self one of them

It was very embarrassing The wonderful nurse lady before she left the room for 5 minutes said do massage to your penis I will come back 5 minutes later.

Yes it was OK caverject worked very well. Charlie (my little fella) got hard very hard.than that wonderful very helpful lady nurse came back and said woww that's good.than said if it is doesn't go down next 4 hours than knock our door or go to A&E

It was embarrassing to walk in the Hospital I had to go ahead with Masturbate just to bring it down but it did not work Stayed up lol before I was complaining for not to get it up but this time was up:) I called my girl friend and told her about it. She had giggle and said I wish I wasnt at work then I would come and sort you out at your place.I said well I'm at the hospital so incase if it doesn't go down than I would be in good hands.

Yes it was hard and uncomfortable walking with that way .so I had to go to  bathrooms at least 3 times just I pulled down my trousers to give my self relaxation.

Than I decided to get back to my place. Left the hospital walked to Baker street under ground station the area is famous with office and museums of Sherlock Holmes and Madame tussauds. So was very busy with tourists everybody were using the escalator but me using the normal stairs I did go upside down twice and some people they were looking at me and possibly saying why this man is not using the escalators?

Anyway still it was very hard and uncomfy.

Inside of the tube/train I did not take a seat.I stood and tried to occupy my brain with news papers, articles etc

By the time the train arrived to my area of Wembley Charlie was down and I took  a very deep breath.

So was given 4 of Caverject Dual Chamber 20 micrograms  but told to adjust to 5 micrograms to inject my self.

Questions:

* How do I store them?

(Mind I want to use them soon anyway but incase how do I store them)

*To use of Sauna,Steam rooms,Jacuzee is it a good or bad idea of? Dangerous?

*That wonderful nurse lady she showed me how to use the caverject but one thing is risky for me which is To take the air of the syringe! How do I do it properly?

Thanks for reading

Dear Chris

Thank you so much for taking time and kindly responded.

Sure I would take your suggestions very seriously.

Yes Caverject came with instructions but it's also listen the experienced people like your self.

One of Your suggestions is invicorp 25...I'm not sure what its but I was asked to take 5mlg dose that made me walk on the street like a pregnant woman! I cannot imagine that if I inject my self with a higher dose:)

Let's see how it goes this one.

Surely I will update.

Many thanks and have a nice weekend.

Dear Luther

Yes while ago I was complaining about it lol true but ...that injection wowww it was kinda miracle really.

The nurse  lady she was extremely understanding and supportive.

I thought initially would have been painful but wasnt really.

Anyway yes I was walking in central london like a pregnant woman:)if it was indoors wouldn't bother me really.

Yes your right I have no right to complain about it:)

Well now I have got 4 injections to use let's see how it goes. Hope kama sutra helps  as well.

The nurse she mentioned about pellets but she also said they are not available for NHS patients at the moment..

Thanks for putting smile on my face:)

You have a nice weekend my friend:)

Invicorp 25 is an entirely different medicine. One dose suits all. I found Caverject gave me bad pain after. Not widely available on NHS but can be bought privately for around £25 each.

Chris

Thanks for your kind words.

Do you still inject your self with anything and use pump same time?

My caverject worked very well at the hospital I asked a nurse  not the one specialist whom showed me how to inject caverject, I asked him that I have just given caverject and Do I still need to use pump? He answered. NO ! you dont need to.

But seems your still using the pump!

Thanks

You should never inject yourself and then use a pump , as the vacuum could cause a big bleed. I don’t inject at all anymore. Hi Chris

Thanks for your Kind info..that I did not know about it.

May I ask you please what shall I do not to let my penis to be bend and shrink?

I'm following medical teams advises. Saddly they did not given me 5mlg tadafil or cialis.

So what you saying is I must either use pump or injections?

Also how long it took for you to recover?

Thanks

Dear Chris

I would do what you just suggested

Yes its logical to keep them :) healthy with pumps and use the injections when necessary with my partner.

I will keep in my mind your advises

I'm glad that for you at least 2 years after  battles you retained your sex life.

Your a lucky man

Thank you again

Sometimes I wonder if I should do a bit of trolling for a laugh, but this is probably not the right forum.

I remember I had multiple bollockings for referring to the annual meet-up as “The Coffin-Dodgers’ Convention” about two years ago.

Anyway, I’m more smug than ever today as my latest PSA is “undetectable”.😁

Don't think you should "double inject" check with your doctor.

If 10mg in 2 jabs isn't rocking it you should probably try 20 in a single dose - check with your doc though.

The main reason for failure is poor injection technique, it's a bit of a technique and easy to fumble in the heat of the moment.
