Advice Really

Hi,

I have recently attended the GP after suffering pain in my groin, urethra and hips. GP carried out a Digital test and advised my prostate was enlarged. Due to the pain in urethra etc he asked for a urine test and prescribed me with Nitrofuranton which I am currently taking. He believes that my symptoms are that of Prostatitis. It’s been 4 days of taking tablets and I am still suffering from a really uncomfortable pain. Couple of questions

1. Should I have a PSA test? GP says it may not be necessary
2. Has anyone else took these tablets and have they worked?
3. How should I control my diet?

Probably best to wait a couple of weeks and then request a PSA test - more reliable if you are not on meds at the time.

Not aware of any diet that can help with prostatitis but drinking pure cranberry juice may help settle your bladder / urethra.
