Low white blood count, anyone else ?

Hi all,

due to low haemoglobin in February and a nasty chest infection, I was put on 3x daily iron tablets - which seemed to work

however my GP is taking regular blood tests to see how dropping to once daily managed the problem. It’s probably a side effect of the Bicalutamide

however, I phoned for today’s monthly result and was told that my WHITE blood count is low, requiring another blood test next week to see what’s happening.

is this an issue anyone else has had? I read that radiotherapy can affect white blood count and I recently finished 33 sessions of salvage radiotherapy

just another thing to worry about now

I’ve had issues with white cell count a lot.

my neutrophils are often below minimum.

My oncologist wasn’t too fazed about it.

I haven’t had any treatment for it, not deemed necessary.

Hopefully others will come along with their expertise.

Ian
