So scared for my Dad

My dad is 75 and was diagnosed with stage 4 metatastic prostate cancer  a year ago. At the moment he feels relatively ok. He receives regular hormone treatment and his PSA has gone from 1025 a year ago to 24.4 last week.  But I think I'm more worried than he is as he doesn't look online and intentionally doesn't want to know details.  However I do and from what I've seen his prognosis isn't good. I'm terrified for him and for what's to come.

Alexandra, Beware Dr Google. The more you read the unhappier you may become. You should focus on the PSA trend, which is remarkably good. These days there are lots of treatment options if the HT should fail. At 75, my age next month, he may well die, as we all must, with the disease rather than of it. I would plan for and make the most of your years together and shove those negative thoughts into the bin. They don't help!

Good Luck
