First Annual PSA Result

So my PSA came back at 1.8 a massive improvement from 12 this time last year,  its still a bit high for my age but for me that is amazing.  The trend was up before this 4-12 in 7 months ish so I was more than a bit apprehensive especially after being mis-diagnosed with PCA at the beginning of all this (see bio)

Posting really to show that PSA level isn't everything.

PSA are "only" indicative aren't they but even so, it is a huge relief when you get them and they are lower than they were Eh?

Well done. I hope it continues like that for you

Look at it in one of two ways Law,

PSA is an unreliable indicator unless it is in your favour, in which case, excellent result.

If the number is high, well, what an unreliable test! Can not possibly be relied upon.

Kind regards

Very true regarding the relief but the build up to a results day is so nerve racking. In my case because of what happened I wish I'd never had a PSA test but then on the other side of the coin I wouldn't be having these annual tests and that might be the difference in years to come. I can see why its a controversial subject I hope they find something more reliable soon.
