Help! I’m between a rock & a hard place. I’ve got PC advanced aggressive T4 N1 Gleason 9.
Been on hormone therapy since Feb 18. The tumour as spread and attached to my rectum wall from MRI in Feb 18. Oncologist had me have further MRI Jul 5th 18. The scan showed some shrinkage but is still attached to the rectum. In Apr 18 the oncologist said to have radiotherapy could result in damage to the rectum. I’ve seen the oncologist today 3rd Aug and he’s now advising me to consider radiotherapy. I told him I didn’t want it and said I would continue with hormone injections and have regular PSA test and if the the PSA test showed a rise could I then have Abiraterone. He said you’ll only get that if it’s migrated to other organs or bones. So looking for advice.

Sorry to read you are in such a difficult position Roger.

Has the oncologist talked about early chemotherapy?

There are experts here who can and will answer your questions.

Best wishes,

Hi the oncologist on Friday 3rd Aug as done

a u turn on pushing me to have radiotherapy when in April he said if it’s still attached to the rectum will have to look at alternative treatments. He never discussed any other treatment.

Cheers
