Prophyllactic radiotherapy to breast buds

Hello

I have not yet started any treatment for my T3a, Gleason score 7, prostate cancer recently diagnosed.

I am thinking of taking Biclutanide tablets and my urologist has suggested that a small dose of radiotherapy to my breast buds would prevent the painful breast swelling that is a likely side effect.

Does anyone here have experience or knowledge about this.

Thank you so much.

Steve - I started Bicalutimide in February 2018.  I asked for the radiotherapy to my breasts and was refused.  Some hospitals do it, some don’t.  My GP put me on Tamoxifen to prevent breast growth.

I do have nipple pain but no breast growth.  My body hair is falling out though.  I also had initial tiredness but it’s not so bad now.

We argued for RT to the breast buds but were refused. If it is on offer, I would grab it with both hands. RT seems to be more successful than taking tamoxifen.
