Misshapen prostate

Hi, I have been on Active Surveillance for the past 4 years, i recently had my latest MRI scan, when i went to see my consultant, he said the prostate was misshapen and we would have to consider a Template biopsy but not for 6 months! - i have read up about the template biopsy and it looks like a more comprehensive biopsy than a TRUS.   Has anyone else had a misshapen prostate, i have had around 5 previous MRI and nothing has been said about the shape, just that everything was OK - also, is a template biopsy more likely to lead to surgery?  thank you in advance.

Sully, any of us who still have a prostate and have PCa probably have a mis-shappen prostate! The template biopsy should be better at identifying where the cancer actually lies and would therefore make treatment by surgery or other means more straightforward, but it certainly does not make surgery more likely!

Thanks for your reply, yes i know that most of the prostates on here are misshapen, i mentioned it because the consultant said mine had changed from the last MRI  Hopefully the template biopsy will shed more light on why then.
