Meds regime full time job

Completed my first Chemotherapy session yesterday on Docetaxel which went okay. The hardest thing I'm finding at the moment is for someone like me who has been fortunate to hardly ever take drugs ( I don't even bother with paracetemol when I've a hangover) the drug routine is brutal and I feel like I'm popping pills every 10 minutes.

This is my current regime, it helps to record it so I can keep on top of it:

Bicalutamide tablets 20/8 for 28 days
First prostap injection 3/9/18
Flu jab 24/9
bloods taken 27/9 no PSA check
24 steroid tablets (dexamethasone) 30/9-2/10
Stomach tablets lansoprazole one a day
First chemo session 1/10/2018 docetaxel
more steroids prednisolone 2 tablets once a day
anti sickness tablets metoclopromide one tablet 3 times a day
Filgrastim injection once a day for 7 days from 3/10/18
Second prostap injection 4/10/2018

I'd also like an updated PSA score, i ws told by my GP it was 8, when I was diagnosed it was 11 from the blood test I had at my GPs in July. I had a blood test before my Chemo but the l lady who took the test didn't record my PSA. The sister said my last reading (from the July 8 or 11 reading) was 13.9. The Chemo nurse yesterday gave me a blood request for my second Chemo session in 3 weeks and has scrawled PSA across it to make sure I get an upto date score. my mistake I guess, I thought they would do it as standard as I had the bloods taken in the Chemo unit last Thurday.

Lesson one, never assume.

Anyway all the best to everyone, must dash I've another 8 tablets to take with my breakfast.

Sounds grim Jasper.

I just hope that they benefit you enormously and that you get used to being a walking pill box :)

Best Wishes

Sandra
